Software recommendations

All software sucks. Some less so. The programs below are my personal favourite for certain tasks.

• Text editing: sam (9front version) (yes I install 9front VMs just to run sam)
• Writing text: Latex and Troff (Plan 9 version)
• Drawing chemical structures: ChemDraw
• Linting verilog: verilator
• HDL simulation: ModelSim
